Growing up, there were a lot of Sandra Boynton items around: books, bedding, nicknacks, kitchenware, all of it. I’m not even sure which of my parents’ houses was the biggest offender, but I DO remember it was my mom’s house that had the “A Twenty-One-Bun Salute” coffee mug. Didn’t matter that the woman had like four shelves stacked with mugs: when it came time to whip out the hot cocoa and mini marshmallows, I’d get onto my knees on the countertop and reach for the 21 Bun mug. I loved it. I still love it, but unfortunately she’s not selling it anymore, and the bunnies in the current bun salute design are different too (now they don’t salute? it’s odd):

And since it’s about that time for Easter, throwing a bunny manicure into the mix seemed appropriate, so here’s my (less than) 21 Bun Salute salute to Ms. Boynton and all the warm, punny giggles she’s given over the years. Not too much fancy to it: just a two-coat base of Kleancolor White with the bunnies painted over in acrylic.
Man I wish I had that mug, these fingers would look pretty great wrapped around it right now!

Ha, these rock. I love how everyone finds inspiration in all sorts of spots. You did such a gret job. So good at meticulous art work.
Thanks Melissa! I really love these bunnies, they remind me of super happy stuff.
these are awesome!
Love! They are a perfect match to the mug! I love manis inspired by everyday items! ♥
love your bunnies *.*
these are really cute!
Thanks ladies! I could totally see these sort of bunnies on a wallpaper runner design or something — they’re just CUTE (along with all of her other animals…) You don’t know how many times I did bunny hop jokes with those on.
