Simple and fun effect, started first with a two coat base of Essie Forget Me Nots which is as pink as pink gets I think. Then used OPI Unripened to create a gradient, which looks mostly black here but should definitely be used for a full coat somewhere to hillight just how pretty it is with all the deep teal sparkle business buried within. Once that dried I finished up with some dotting tools going back in with the Essie to create big polka dot lines down the nail.

Again…I love it! What a great idea to layer the dots over the gradient!
So cool! Pink and black are always a classy combo.
I love this! It looks kind of like you spray painted your nail since the dots are the same color as the base color
Thanks ladies! The best part is that it’s so easy, I’ll be pulling out this card again for sure
What a cool effect! I really like this! You have a new follower
I like this too, all of your nails look really awesome, I like you ideas : ) I’m curious tho, how did you do the gradient here?? I use sponges, but I think there are other techniques. I haven’t gotten the hang of sponging quite yet…
Thank you October! It’s all sponging (those little triangular makeup sponges), except for the glitter ones, those I do directly with the applicator brush.
The sponging takes a little practice, but I think the key is patience and letting the paint dry completely, and then not putting the sponge anywhere near the actual gradient line (where you want it to fade) until you’ve sponged off a fair bit of the polish on the lower part of the nail.
