he spoke with a voice that was sharpish and bossy
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”

I saw that the site was getting a lot of traffic to the One Fish, Two Fish Nails this weekend so figured I’d throw another Seuss favorite onto the fire with a Lorax inspired mani.  The Lorax himself gave me a little trouble (the yellow acrylic tones I have just do NOT want to go over black without a ton of work) but the rest was actually pretty easy, what with the lines not needing to be any particular way.

Seriously, give it a shot: first put down the black outline for the line between the grass/sky/water and any black tree trunks.  Then you fill in the grass/sky/water with green and blue (it’s ok to go over the black a little, in fact you want to since it’ll make the line even more thin), go back in with your black to create little round swooshy blobs for the trees and shrubs, and finish it by filling in the remaining colors (and of course touch up any black at the end, adding some extra whiskery swooshes over the puffs).

Ok, that was a lot of words, but no foolin’, those fingers didn’t take forever… and you kinda can’t mess it up!

I recently did some Lorax themed nails too! I painted my nails like the trees, and in all honesty, it was quite sloppy. I love how neat and precise your design is!

Love this! I just bought a Lorax coffee mug last night! Now I want to do my nails to match! But it will have to wait till after St. Patty’s Day! :) Great job on your nails :D

Ooooo I want a Lorax mug, that’s awesome! You should totally do a paint job to match, and then dance all over the place w/ your mug.

And oh gosh St Paddys, I almost forgot that was coming — time to break out the green and gold glitter!

I found it at Barnes and Noble and it has this saying on it “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” and then a image on top of a tree. They had another design to that was more colorful but I got this one instead and has a rubber lid YAY for no spills! Yep working on putting up my St. Patty’s water marble up now, editing pictures. :)
