Pretty simple one today — it’s been raining since well before dawn and I’ve been needing something sunny and happy all day, so wound up trying to put some on my nails. Let’s just dive into the colors here, shall we?
Essie Funny Face on the index finger: such a pretty pink color, this was actually ok in 2 coats but fully stacked in 3. Not a runny issue at all, but there was a hint of VNL and that drives me nuts.
essence What Do U Think? on the middle: Meh. I like the creamsicle color of this, and that it’s got little sparkle bits in it to give it a slight shimmer, but the coat was pretty uneven and attempts to overload/overcompensate made little bubbles. This nail is also what started the smiley face thing just to cover up some trouble areas that scratched and dinged after hours of drying.
Barry M Lemon on the ring: BOO. Big big BOO. If the essence polish was a pain this one was a straight up problem child. Four coats, plus another touch up run between topcoats. A total mess. I don’t even want to go into it, it was that bad.
Sinful Colors Feeling Great on the pinky: super easy two-coater pink, it’s a little more “hot” than the Funny Face but they both round out two snotty colors nicely.
As I mentioned, the smiley faces were added in acrylic to sort of hide some of the problem spots, and when that wasn’t even enough to distract me from the gunky yellow I went and covered all of them up with Material Girl Labyrinth. I’m guessing there are about 7 coats total on my nails right now. Yikes.
Annnnnnd the lucky winners of the Winter 2012 Giveaways are:
Doris L. won the Nail Polish Canada prize of the Konad Starter Kit
and Nicola over at Leona Carolina’s Closet won the nail polish surprise pack!
I’m not going to spoil the surprise of what’s in the box, but it’ll be coming from this general area… (let’s be real, she’s got a lot of polishes, so since it’s a rain day and I can’t bike to the post office anyway I’ll probably go through her site and try to make sure I’m not giving her stuff she already has).
