I’m not even going to pretend I know what these are — but honestly, any request that comes in I’m going to execute (I’m a big believer in passionately adoring something, so if you’ve got a bug I’m happy to support it), and even if I don’t fully grasp all of these it was a lot of fun to work on. Tina asked that I do some K-pop nails and sent over this image for reference:
Y’all know I’ve been trying to bone up on my lettering and stuff, so this was a really cool challenge for me. Not knowing which logos belonged to what band/who they were, I picked the ones that spoke to me most (the infinity symbol? OK!) and painted them in white over a two coat base of China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic. The only thing that bugs me about this one is my last minute flub — after I’d put the logos in using white, I knocked my two last fingers against a still-wet brush that had some purple on it, BEFORE I’d sealed it down with clear polish, so washing it away wasn’t an option… had to decide on either rolling with it or starting over, and after those dang ladies last weekend, starting over wasn’t in my cards. It’s not super distracting though, so I guess it’s okay.
And if anybody want to explain to me what I’ve done here, I’m all ears. :) My experience with Korean pop really only extends to “ohmigosh those boys are so pretty!” and a song a friend put on a mixtape like 11 years ago.
