I’m not even going to pretend I know what these are — but honestly, any request that comes in I’m going to execute (I’m a big believer in passionately adoring something, so if you’ve got a bug I’m happy to support it), and even if I don’t fully grasp all of these it was a lot of fun to work on.  Tina asked that I do some K-pop nails and sent over this image for reference:

kpop logos

Y’all know I’ve been trying to bone up on my lettering and stuff, so this was a really cool challenge for me.  Not knowing which logos belonged to what band/who they were, I picked the ones that spoke to me most (the infinity symbol?  OK!) and painted them in white over a two coat base of China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic.  The only thing that bugs me about this one is my last minute flub — after I’d put the logos in using white, I knocked my two last fingers against a still-wet brush that had some purple on it, BEFORE I’d sealed it down with clear polish, so washing it away wasn’t an option… had to decide on either rolling with it or starting over, and after those dang ladies last weekend, starting over wasn’t in my cards.  It’s not super distracting though, so I guess it’s okay.

And if anybody want to explain to me what I’ve done here, I’m all ears.  :)  My experience with Korean pop really only extends to “ohmigosh those boys are so pretty!” and a song a friend put on a mixtape like 11 years ago.

Thanks ladies! So what do these even stand for anyway? Sabbie, I have some picture tutorials in the “Quick Tutorials” section — and the DIY nail transfer one actually has a video… Unfortunately I don’t currently have any plans to expand into doing those video segments regularly though. I love this site, a bunch — it really is a labor of love — but it does take up a lot of time, and doing the videos would basically double that. As it is I only sleep a few hours a day (my workload is pretty bananas) so it’s hard for me to justify/make room to throw even more time into this site. It’s not that I wouldn’t like to, but I’ve got to prioritize my time, make sure my clients are all well taken care of, and still make time to take care of myself too… right now there just aren’t enough hours in the day to start a video program. I’m sorry!

    OK~~ Time to explain~~

haha So on your pointer you have the band SS501 (Double S 5 Oh 1) A 5 member boy group that is not longer in action since their contract has ended about a year or two ago. But their name stands for Superstar Singers “SS” and The five members together as 1 forever “501″. Said to come back as a band together if anyone offered another contract.

One the your middle finger is the Seven member boyband INFINITE. Haha These boys have some insane synchronisation going on in their dance routines and are one of the better dance groups.

After that you have the symbol for After School, a Nine member girl group, that also owns 3 sub groups: Orange Caramel; After School Blue and After School Red.

Last one on the pinky is f(x), is a 5 member girl group with a quirky style image. The “f” stands for flower and the “x” represents the female’s double x chromosome.

Your pinky is a boy-group called SS501, the ring finger is Infinite (also a boy-group), your middle finger is a girl-group called After School, and your index finger is f(x), also a girl-group.. not really the most popular groups in my opinion, but they do have a strong fanbase. Hope I helped^^
