Well that was worth waiting by the mailbox for. Deborah Lippmann’s Private Dancer, a deep purple mirrored chrome, showed up today (along with some buddies, oh boy oh boy) and I had to try it on immediately. It’s not the thickest polish — took three coats to get it opaque, which for me just means more opportunity for it to get screwed up and streak — but I seriously sat back after that dried and declared: “That’s one sexy bitch.”
Because it is. Of course with a description that includes the term “mirrored” I had hoped for an even more reflective finish, but let’s be real — I love purple and this is doing it right in spades. Scratching my head for a design idea that would barely cover any of it up (why would you want to?!), I noticed that the color matched up with the purple in the dress I was wearing this afternoon, a summer shift chiffon number with abstract flowers in purple, blue and green, all very cool-spectrum colors… perfect. So I took those extra colors and added three random jagged lines near the tip of each nail in acrylic, sealed it up, then sat out on the steps under the sun to admire the glow.
I couldn’t narrow the pics down to 4-5 (it does such a fantastic color shift!), so have a bunch, because this polish is just lovely:
