I’m not generally into really pale and muted colors (shocker!) but I have had this little mini set of OPI Femme De Cirque softshades polishes sitting in the cabinet for awhile and wanted to see what they *really* were all about.
Since they’re all sheer polishes it made sense to start with a pure white base to really see what the colors were doing (my naked nails have got some coloring of their own going on at this point)… and in one coat, barely perceptible. In two you definitely picked up the shades, but it was still hard to distinguish between the two pinks. So what you’re seeing here is 3 generous coats of each over a bed of white – these are definitely not standalone polishes, but could do well to finish a nice naked french or something. From pinky to pointer, the shades are:
- I Juggle…Men (straight up sparkles)
- So Many Clowns…So Little Time (peachy)
- In the Spot-Light Pink
- Step Right Up! (pink meets peach)
Ooo, and per Betty’s request, there’s now one of those Google Friend Connect widget thingies in the sidebar if that makes things easier for anybody!

They’re all very pretty!
I’m not much for pale/nude colors, either. I want to be because they can be really pretty, but try as I might, I’m just not. These *are* pretty.
They do look gorgeous over white! Great idea, LOL. I was sitting here looking at them incredibly sheer at 2 generous coats and wondering how people like Scrangie make them completely opaque on their own. haha. I should revisit this collection and try that trick!
I think my rationale for having the pale and nude colors is that someday, somewhere, in an alternate reality where I don’t live in a city that embraces the weird, I might actually have to do a really simple and professional looking nail job in normal colors. Hasn’t happened yet, but I’m armed!
Gah, I can’t even imagine trying to pile on any of these without an opaque base beneath them… they’re SO PALE!
Hi, So sorry — but which one is your pinky and which one is your pointer? lol I can sort of tell.. but not clear. Maybe say from left to right or right to left next time if you are not showing the whole hand? lol Thanks.
No worries — the pinky is the smallest nail, so the right one on pics 1 and 3 and the left one on pic 2.
