I decided I needed to give myself something challenging this weekend so went for the standard flower/banner flash tattoo design as a stencil.  I blocked everything off first in black and white then put on a coat of love & beauty Sky Blue, went back in and colored the leaves with Color Club Edie and Feelin’ Groovy, then the flowers with love & beauty Pearly Pink and Color Club Almost Famous.  THEN (if that isn’t the most overused word on this blog…) I added some white hilighting to the banner and finished it all up by retracing the outlines and then adding “PAZ” and “AMOR” to the banner (with a pen that the topcoat totally rejected).  Not gonna lie, this took me forever… but it was a good challenge!  Also, discovered I’m not a fan of the Wet n Wild Fastdry topcoat: when I put it over this it really bled out some of the lines and colors, so one to grow on there.

Thanks ladies! It seriously took hours, but I’m glad I took the time to work it all out….

A flash tattoo is like all of the designs on pages that you’ll see on the walls in tattoo shops; they used to deliver/share tattoo designs that could easily be cranked out and duplicated or slightly modified for customers, with shops and artists just passing around their flash designs. “flash” tattoo just generally means “totally unoriginal design but wholly recognized as a tattoo thing”.
