Did y’all catch Parks and Recreation this week?!  Totally lost it everytime Ron Swanson (played by Nick Offerman) got super stoked on the scavenger hunt, it was adorable (or as adorable as a big mustachioed bear can be), which they used as a device for the closing scene:

I had to do Ron Swanson nails.  Had to.  Kyle Hilton had created this great graphic for Ron cut out dolls so I used that as my reference to create the nails (in acrylic) featuring “The Swanson” turkey leg, desk shotgun, Ron and part of his breakfast poster. Where I really screwed up (because the self-flagellator in me is compelled to call it out) is the touch-up round: some of my safety orange color, which seemed like a no-brainer for Swanson, needed some follow up after the first topcoat so I used one of the Migi pens instead of the acrylic paint to try to cover it, but I wound up making this weird orange colored mishmesh in those areas, so whoopsie.

hahaha my dog just gave me the craziest look because I was laughing so hard — LITERALLY the funniest thing I read online today, brava Crystal! :) Still giggling.

Oh my gosh I love these so much!!! “I want that. Please do that for me.” I laughed SO HARD. And that gif is amazing. Love the Snake Juice episode. “I want all the bacon and eggs you have.” I could quote him all day! This manicure is just…amazing.

They’ve really been knocking it out lately, it makes my cheeks hurt! Also Tom:

“blah blah blah go back to my place and snuggle like bunnnnnnies.”
    “this was a mistake.”

Oh, so nice and funny, really nice job, once again :)

  6. I have no idea who Ron Swanson is (we don’t have it here) but serisouly….are you a real life artist or something, how can you draw a person’s face to every details on a nail? Wow!

The Pyramid of Greatness may be all you need to know about Ron Swanson. :) Honestly, this mani (and the other detail ones) took me hours bent over my nail with a high powered light and a long brush that I’ve cut down to 3 bristles. Like the left eye: I must have gone over that three times trying to get it right, and it’s really just two tiny white dots, a blue dot (and when I say dot here, it’s just the tip of those 3 bristles) and a black dot rounded by two brown lines… and I still wasn’t happy with it. The perfectionist in me basically has a field day with this stuff.

Gurrrrrl, you gotta catch up! I don’t know what I love more, the characters/actors or the writing. This season has been consistently full of giggles!
