Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum ran a promo this past Saturday in Chicago, New York, Ft. Lauderdale and New Orleans giving away 101 free tattoos in each city featuring the designs of Norman Collins, the legendary tattoo artist whose art the liquor brand uses for their bottle design and marketing campaigns. In New Orleans, that meant heading into Uptown Tattoos with my friend and waiting out a lovely football afternoon playing Uno outside and drinkin’ rum til it was our turn to get some free ink (this town, it’s pretty great…). I got a shark done in record time on my arm (filling up a blank space between a couple of other tattoos that’s been bugging me for awhile, so yay) and then set out to (attempt to) honor Sailor Jerry with some flash nail art — happy 101st birthday! It’s all acrylic again, will get back to polish shortly, I promise… but huge thanks to Uptown Tattoos for the great work, and Sailor Jerry for the amazing promotion!
