I’m not a big fan of the shatter really, but feel duty-bound to use them from time to time since they’re just sitting there… and sometimes with surprisingly nice results. Went for a sunrise gradient (no need for anything all that clean since it’s just an undercoat for shatter) on the left hand with Sinful Colors’ Hazard and Let’s Meet:
With Hazard, Sally Hansen Always Ascher, and love & beauty Magnetism for sunset on the right:
Finished by topping with a fairly thick coat of OPI Black Shatter and 2 top coats for the final effect. The guy at the corner store yanked my hand in for a closer look so apparently these are an eye-grabber.

I don’t normally like the crackle finish but I like the gradient base application under this crackle.
Yeah, I’m not a huge crackle lover either, I think this black works because there’s enough going on underneath and it’s not one over those super-cover crackles where you can barely see anything.
Why is the polish in the top two pics so bumpy?
That was from sponging — once you put the topcoat on, voila, all gone!
