Keeping it a little more simple this weekend, I went with a two coat base of China Glaze Dance Baby — great pink color, I’m glad to have it in the collection. With that dry, I added some leopard spots in bright spring-y colors for a bit of accent on the middle finger. Presto change-o, fun spring nails in five minutes!

Nice Quick and easy design for summer. Just wondering, do you have a special technique for a gradient?
For gradients I usually just use a makeup sponge. Get your base color down, make sure it’s totally dry, then add a dot of the next nail color onto the tip of the sponge and just dab it over part of the nail. Repeat that about 3 times, moving lower down the nail as you go, and you’ve got a pretty balanced gradient! There’s a mani with some sponging pictures in the Quick Tutorials section too.
How did you do the leopard print? By a konad or freehand ?
This is just freehand. Which isn’t really hard — you can use a brush or even a dotting tool to first lay down the colored spots, then go back in with your smallest brush and some black paint to add squiggly edging around the outside of the colored spot. Since it isn’t meant to be a perfect ring (usually 2 or 3 segments around the dot) you can’t really mess it up; it’s supposed to be irregular and a little jumpy, so have fun with it!
