This is one of those that looks really cool but you need to give yourself a looooooot of time for it to dry… so if you’re trying it, make it a night where you’re at home sitting around watching a movie or something and don’t need to do much with your hands for awhile. I basically just dropped a glob of 3 different colors on each nail in a row — all Sally Hansen glitters in Deep Blue Sea, Blue It and Midnight Sky — and then went in with a toothpick to swirl them all together.
It’s a mess and you can play with it as much/little as you want but I got sort of sucked into the process and wound up with what looks like an angry sea to me. If you end up with a super bumpy job at the end (I did, and for the purpose of taking pics these were still wet… and I wasn’t waiting 3 hours to tinker with it) you can wait for it to dry and file it down a little/gently wipe it with some nail polish remover or go nuts with the clearcoat to smooth it all down. It all makes for a fun gradient and a little less predictable than a sponge job since you can swirl the paints wherever/however you want.

it looks great, but anything with long drying time is just not for me
Totally feel ya — seemed like a good idea at the time but then I realized I had to cook dinner and off it went!
I hate the long drying time, but your nails look gorgeous! I love blues mixed together.
I hate long drying times, but I love this!
Hey, Stormy seas are bumpy, right?! That’s my story and I’m stickin to it, LOL!
You unintentionally created a new nail fad–three dimensional texture! You brought the name of your nails to life. It looks good!
