Barry M Aqua Green
Barry M is 0 for 2 with me. I’m trying, I really really am, but so far this is the pits… right here you’ve got FOUR coats, each of them trying to correct the one before. With the bubbling issue I had on the orange I thought best to take my time, really let things dry between coats (literally hours between each application) and I still had to start over once on the middle nail because, 9 hours after laying it on, I could still smudge the polish around. Oh, and there are bubbles. Lots and lots of bubbles. It’s really disappointing because I do quite like the color!
OPI Louvre Me Louvre Me Not
Lovely purple-plum color with a bit of shimmer, this was two coats with some squiggle business dropped on top (because why not).
Essie Funny Face
This is two coats, with some OPI Mod About You dotted on top:
OPI Red My Fortune Cookie
RED. Just straight up yowza red, and in one coat!
Essie Case Study
Two coats of this warm brown with a few swooshes in Barry M Blue Moon (thin and runny, would not advise using this for detail brush work; it kept creating bubbles of polish instead of evenly flowing on the brush, super ridiculous… guess that’s really 0 for 3).

Two coats of the Jazz with Material Girl Guilty Conscience on the tips:
Essie Smokin’ Hot vs. Zoya Petra
My friend started putting Essie Smokin’ Hot on and I realized it looked a lot like Zoya Petra — so much that we decided to put both on her nails to compare them together. Can you tell which is which? Right, pretty much the same thing. Smokin’ Hot is on the index finger with Zoya Petra on the rest (all in 2 coats, 1 coat on the pinky).

So…do you have longer nails on one hand and shorter nails on the other? Or is the hand with shorter nails not yours?

If you layer the Barry M Aqua Green over a dark grey (like Barry M Grey or Models Own Moody Grey) it’s BEAUTIFUL.
Haha totally different hands and people up in here; but yes, my left hand (not pictured here) is way different, and frankly less pretty, than my right (since I take all of my pics and do all the work on the right hand I’m way more careful with that hand, so the nails grow better than the left where I use it to do… everything, so the nails are fairly gnarly and the hand beat-up.)
Thank you for the layering idea! I think that’s how I need to use these — alone they’re just not working for me.

Ahh, that’s what I figured. Yeah, I have the same problem. The nails on my left hand are beautiful and grow nicely, on my right hand, not so much.
